About Us

Our Mission

Believing in the value of diversity and equity, Inclusive Ottawa County aims to encourage and uplift historically-excluded populations through community, resources, and educational programs.

Our Story

Inclusive Ottawa County (IOC) was founded in 2022. It all started from a community Facebook group whose members then began to meet regularly at parks. After two years of engaging with the community, it was clear that Ottawa County needed more support and advocacy for historically-excluded people. This led to forming Inclusive Ottawa County as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Inclusive Ottawa County is currently renovating their permanent community center space, The Village, in Hudsonville. The Village currently has three clothing closets (baby, kids, adults), a food pantry, a hygiene/medical closet, a library, a playroom (for younger children), and a great hall that is used for bigger events. We host open hours, pizza nights, game nights, and an IOC book club on a regular basis. We also host other events like our Boo Bash, Chalk Pride, our annual Banned Book Fair, and much, much more!
